On the 4th of July we celebrate our country (my American friends). Whatever we disagree on, there’s so much that we do agree on. I want a clean roof over my head and to feel safe and secure. I want good food for my family, and steady work to support them. I want my children to be happy and healthy and prosperous, and for all of us to have fun and love and abundance in our lives. How about you?
We may disagree on how to get there, but I’m pretty sure there’s a lot of agreement on the places we want to go. Always focusing on disagreements pulls us apart. We all have the right to our own perspective. Can you accept that right in others? Take a little time to talk to people about your commonalities. That’s where understanding begins. Debate is healthy. Free exchange of ideas breeds opportunity and growth.
I have friends and family with diverse of beliefs about politics, religion, social policy, you name it. They’re all great people. Every one of them. I love them all.
